I love spring and summer photoshoots, around Franklin and Nashville, everything is green and lush and kids love to get outside and play!
One of my favorite aspects of being a photographer is getting to be a small part of my client’s lives. Last year I did this little guy’s newborn photos, and seeing big sister becoming a little lady a year later was so much fun!
My husband Markus teamed up with me for this shoot to assist in lighting – using a combination of natural light with artfully placed studio lights give an incredible depth and perspective as well as beautifully saturated colors.
Oh…and if you see Markus ask him about what crazy jungle antics he did to get the little guy to smile…

Nashville brides – Ashley’s Bride Guide is a great resource for Middle Tennessee brides. Looking for a caterer, venue, church, flowers, or style guide? Look no further! This great website had all the info you need in a fun, hip style!
When Jennifer first contacted me last fall about shooting their wedding and I gave her directions to meet at the studio we found out that they lived only about 5 houses down the street from us! What a coincidence! Lillie Belle’s in Franklin is a beautiful venue and the rainy day cleared up for us just long enough for a perfect ceremony and reception.

With my busiest wedding season ever and a wedding almost every weekend I am sorely behind in posting photos and updates! Here’s hoping I can start catching up on giving you a glimpse into the love and lives of some of the wonderful couples that I am privileged to spend time with on one of the best days of their lives.
Ryan and Kelly had the perfect day for the perfect wedding! I met this couple last fall and spent a fun fall afternoon shooting their engagement photos. One of my favorite parts of shooting weddings is how much time I get to spend with couples before their special day from pre-wedding meetings to engagement shoots and photo coverage planning sessions. By the time the wedding day comes I feel like I have gotten a glimpse into the personalities and styles of the bride and groom and how to better capture their story on their day.
The Belle Meade Plantation just a few miles outside of Nashville, Tennessee is definitely joining my short list of favorite Middle Tennessee wedding locations. The mansion was built in 1853 and is located on 30 acres of beautiful historic grounds. The reception took place in the Carriage House and the staff couldn’t have been more pleasant and easy to work with.
The very best to you both!

Paul and April’s engagement shoot was incredibly fun and completely original! A special aspect about this day included incorporating their sons into many of their engagement photos to celebrate their new blended family. I thought it was absolutely beautiful. Paul kept us giggling with his antics and April is a wonderfully warm and welcoming person. Here are a few of my favorite photos from our time together!

If you have contacted us recently via the contact form on the website and have not heard back it’s not that we’re ignoring you or don’t like you! A few days ago we discovered that there was a glitch in the contact form and most if not all of recent contacts where being lost in cyberspace never to be seen again! It has now been fixed, but if you filled out the form recently and have not been contacted back please try again, we’d love to talk with you about your photography needs!
Probably THE biggest question that I get asked when I’m designing invitations for couples. Most brides know the color and styles they want, if they want to include a photo or if the fonts should be classic, romantic, or modern, but knowing what wording to use on a custom designed wedding invitation is hard enough when it’s a traditional situation, and in this day and age there are dozens of possible situations there are equally dozens more wordings for each situation!
Below are links to some great example wordings from our friends over at Invitation Consultants to get you started!
The only thing that rivals my love for photography is my love for graphic design. Combining the two in designing custom invitations tailored to each bride’s colors, style, and photos is the type of project that I always look forward too. Custom wedding invitations are 5×7 light cardstock and come with free white envelopes. They can be ordered in quantities as small as 24 and come in three paper styles: standard cardstock, linen, and pearl finish (adds a slight sheen and makes colors pop). Response cards are available in matching quantities and paper styles and are 3.5 x 5 in and can be mailed as a postcard. Email or call today to receive a sample and a pricelist!
Erin and Michael are a delightful couple and I am so looking forward to being a part of their special day next month! A few months ago we did engagement photos and designed a ‘Save the Date’ magnet for them. The background of both the magnet and matching invitations and response cards was a photo of the lace on Erin’s wedding dress. (Sorry Michael, that is all you get to see of that beautiful dress for a few more weeks yet!) One of my favorite parts about designing custom wedding invitations is the stories and styles behind each individual couple, their journey to finding each other, and even the reasons for certain colors used on their special day.
